BREAKING: NY federal judge strikes down Trump-appointee Scott Lloyd's director-review policy for children at the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

Judge Crotty DENIES the agency's motion to dismiss and GRANTS class certification to the NYCLU.

"The court cannot turn a blind eye to plaintiffs' suffering and irreparable injury," U.S. District Judge Paul Crotty writes in a ruling advancing the @NYCLU's lawsuit.

By "strikes down," I am referring to a preliminary injunction. Just clarifying that the new policy is *temporarily* stricken, with Crotty finding that the NYCLU has "clearly demonstrated the likelihood of success" that Lloyd's policy violates federal law. (The APA.)
Important note: This is NOT about Trump's "zero tolerance" family separation policy, which was enjoined by a San Diego federal judge last night.

This is about a Trump appointee's policy at ORR requiring his signature to release unaccompanied immigrant children.
