From a humane standpoint, the children snatched away from their parents by Trump’s strategy should obviously be reunited w/their Moms/Dads pronto. From a political stabdpoint, however, the longer it drags out, the greater the political impact as November approaches /1
Since Trump/Sessions/Nielsen/Miller created a problem - fueled in no small measure by indifference and cruelty - yet have no discernible, organized solution to their problem (e.g. they can’t even account for all of the missing kids) it seems unlikely that it will go away /2
In this respect, unlike other issues/problems that vanish quickly - often supplanted by new problems/embarrassments - Trump’s child-snatch problem may linger, thus defying the short-attention span that both voters and the media often seem to have /3
But obviously (and referencing the first tweet) children should be reunited with parents ASAP regardless of politics; reprehensible and shameful what has happened to these children
