THREAD: Russian TV reports on Amesbury poisoning
2/ Russia’s State-run Channel 1 said “the poison soap opera continues”, with reference to the Skripal case.
3/ The report also alluded to the case of Lucy Letby, the nurse accused of killing several babies in Chester. The reporter said that the reputation of British healthcare "is receiving blow after blow".
"Groundhog day. New Skripals in Salisbury. Really? Oh British medicine!" Channel One's presenter said.
5/ A correspondent for Channel One said Russia should wait to be accused of the poisoning case in Amesbury.
6/ Rossiya 1 suggested that the Amesbury poisoning case was an attempt to taint Russia’s reputation during the World Cup.
The Rossiya 1 presenter said: "the fabulous World Cup and the enthusiastic reaction to it from English fans is apparently haunting the British authorities who are doing everything so that the fans remember that they must not go to Russia.”
In this clip a woman can be heard saying “I have no idea of the individuals”, the overlaid Russian translation says: “We have no idea what happened to these people, there is no objective information, just assumptions and guesswork.”
NTV also referred to the World Cup, saying the Foreign Office had urged fans to stay at home “although at home it is actually dangerous”.
The channel's correspondent said: "Just like with the Skripal story there are no details. Boris Johnson and English journalists will think up the rest."
