2/ Among the most salient issues to Americans: first, health care. The ACA is among the top issues they consider the Court will rule on in the next few years and consider it among the most important to learn where the Justice nominee stands (91% say it's very/somewhat important).
3/ Americans are very concerned that protections for pre-existing conditions are at stake - a message that becomes even more salient once the public becomes aware that the Trump administration will not defend the ACA in court.
4/ Second, on women's health and abortion rights: a strong majority agrees with the decision in Roe v. Wade, and it is also among the most important issues the Supreme Court may rule on in the next few years.
5/ Protecting abortion rights is incredibly important to Americans, but it's important to note that language around Roe v. Wade being weakened is more resonant than language about it being overturned, likely because the public doesn't find "overturning" to be as credible.
6/ Americans are also incredibly concerned by: the Court becoming even more political and partisan; the idea of special interests and corporations will become beneficiaries with a new Justice (think Citizens United - and explain what it is, because most have never heard of it...)
7/ ...and that a Trump nominee could be an impediment to the Special Counsel investigation. The public doesn't think he should get to pick his judge and jury for matters related to the investigation - a message made more powerful by calling for a nominee to recuse themselves.
