Weekend Read is the app we make for reading screenplays on the iPhone. It melts PDFs and reformats the text. It’s literally the only app that does it. itunes.apple.com/us/app/weekend…
It’s a free download. It’s $9.99 USD to keep more than three scripts in your library. On Fridays, we put up a curated list of existing scripts available on the web, all verified to work well in the app. 
The app has been installed 119K times. 4.5% of users upgrade. Would dropping the price to $2 bring 5x the number of upgrades (22%)? Would $1 get us to 45%? Very unlikely.
Should there be ads in the free version of Weekend Read? If the main goal is making money, probably. But I wouldn’t want crap ads, and getting good ads is a big job.
So at this point, we’re sticking with the plan of making an app that’s useful enough that Jesse will keep it on his iPhone, with just enough of a pinch point that he’ll consider buying the upgrade. /end
