Per Yomiuri, during his NK visit, Pompeo confronted Kim Yong-chol re another uranium refinement facility where activity is ongoing and additional construction at a missile factory in Hamhung. KYC denied all and said the construction was for rainy season

August is considered the rainy month in NK. Pompeo reportedly told KYC 'there's limit to our patience' and demanded NK take denuke steps but once again KYC refused to set a timetable. However he did reconfirm NK's intent to denuclearize but asked for declaring end to Korean War
So perhaps that's what precipitated NK to lash out and claim that the US is pressuring NK to "accept demands of its gangster-like mindset." The statement was issued 5 hours after Pompeo left. NK seemed to lament that the US side did not attempt to "consolidate trust."
Remember how on the 2nd day, Pompeo got fed up w/another slow-serving, banquet-style brunch and decided to cut to the chase. KYC apparently didn't appreciate cutting short the trust-building phase. That's why he kept asking he must not have slept well
So apparently the "getting-to-know-you phase" is very important for NK. The phase takes time and must not be rushed through if you want to "consolidate trust." Pompeo should have just sat through and been force-fed eggs benedict

Incidentally most people think Pompeo will remain patient at least until the remains of MIA-POWs are transferred to the UN Command. Securing this transfer is his short-term goal and you don't want to lose NK's cooperation by confronting it too harshly about hidden facilities
Ret Army General Keane: "Trust is something you earn over time. You earn it through socially engaging, getting to know each other. You go to a 4-5 hr dinner ... That's just the norm: it's getting to know one another ... eating & drinking the whole time"
The US side is "too vested to walk away right now" despite the stonewalling by none other than Kim Yong-chol, who constantly pleads he's not empowered to talk about issues. Then why is he a chief negotiator? Many had hoped he'd be replaced by FM Ri Yong-ho washingtonpost.com
Plus if you had to listen to Kim Yong-chol talk like this, in sott voce in case someone eavesdrops, it adds to the annoyance. He tells SK Unification Minister in Pyongyang the importance of "creating the right atmosphere" for inter-Korean rapprochement
The US side is too vested at least until the midterm elections. NK was stalling not just about denuking but what was originally thought to be a low-hanging fruit to get the process going: returning US remains. That's proving to be like pulling teeth now.
