So, I read the new criminal complaint that came out today in connection with the arrest of Maria Butina. Some observations: It's a Complaint not an Indictment which means this information has not yet been presented to the Grand Jury.

The two most common reasons to proceed via Complaint is 1) when you have to quickly arrest someone and there is no time to go to the GJ, you arrest, quickly draw up the Complaint which is used at arraignment, and then go to the GJ after, or 2)when the person has already flipped
In the first scenario, you have caught someone in the act, or after a man hunt, or some other time sensitive reason-often involving a risk of flight. In the second scenario, you won't need to go to the considerable trouble of GJ presentation b/c your cooperator can waive ....
indictment and plead guilty to the Complaint. This saves time and energy and is safer for keeping other witness ID's confidential.

Both Toshin and Betina have been reported as the only Russian life members in the NRA. And it's pretty plain that POLITICAL PART 1 is the GOP. So, the only mystery man is US PERSON 2.
Paragraph 18 has a bombshell, to wit, in an email dated March 24, 2015 (yes, 2015) Butina sent an email in which she predicted that the GOP "would likely obtain control over the US government after the 2016 elections". Not just the presidency, the government.
Which party has POTUS + both houses of Congress and is busy court packing? That looks like control of the whole gov't to me. Paragraphs 20-21 are full of the same kind of talking points I've been hearing from POTUS and conservative media all day - about how we have to improve
relations with Russia.

Jared Kushner and his desire to set u back channel communications with the Russians. I'm not alleging that Kushner is USP2, but the verbiage is startlingly similar.
From BBC: "Ms Butina's attorney Robert Driscoll said in a statement released on Monday ......
said his client had "has been co-operating with various government entities for months" over the allegations."

Not sure if Mr. Driscoll is telling the truth, but if he is, it suggests that they have proceeded via Complaint rather than Indictment b/c she has flipped. Time will tell.
