Sometimes I consider starting a video series called How Many Of His Comments Can Ian Read Before He Hates Humanity.

Today would have been a very short episode.
Compliments don't actually do much for me. What makes me happiest is when people use my work to springboard intelligent and/or hilarious discussions with each other in comments.
It's why the toxic ones are so odious, because they make other conversations nearly impossible.

There are two easy responses to CK's complaint that today's young are boring because their idea of rebellion is talking about pronouns.
First: I understand, to your generation, that Millennials are forever seventeen, but most of the people talking about pronouns are in their twenties and thirties, and they aged INTO it, you has-been.

This is why I don't title videos "Has Cultivation Theory Been Disproven?" and suchlike. More people will see the title than will hear the argument and come away thinking the wrong thing.
Framing your argument such that it will be properly understood is often at cross purposes to how The Algorithm wants it phrased, which will be covered in a future video.

Innuendo Studios Year in Review:
This year I had a video break 1 million views for the first time. Just this morning, another video did as well. A third is on track to break a mill in Q1 2019.
My channel broke 100,000 subscribers.

In fact, I did the math and gained roughly 70,000 subs this year, which is about the same as my entire career to this point.

So in 2018 I doubled my sub count.

OK, slightly more scientific approach to this (though still N=2). Here's what I'll do - enter a topic in the search page, first on Youtube via incognito search, then on youtube via my regular browser.

Test 3 hypotheses:

1/?
2/?

1. Does YouTube direct me towards radical content?
2. Once it gets to radical content, does it stay there?
3. Does this happen more quickly on regular browser than anon browser?
First test "geography" - on anon browser I get 15 legit geog education videos then a whole bunch of cooking videos.

Regular browser: geog, then a couple of "AI goes wrong", then lots of black holes (my daughter's interested in them.

Radicalising? Seems not. 3/?

Today is the 7th Friday of the #GreatReturnMarch & the last 1 before #Nakba70 day. Last week was the 1st time Friday's protests w no deaths.

Before I leave this account, I'd like to share some final thoughts. As you may know, global temperatures have been gradually increasing since the Industrial Revolution, primary driven by a greenhouse effect caused by increasing atmospheric CO2 from human activity. #climatechange
Greenhouse gas emissions have many sources - some of which are natural, but most are the result of human actions like deforestation, burning fossil fuels, and agriculture. Certain soil cultivation practices, fertilizer use, and livestock are significant contributors to GH gases.
Red meat in particular, lamb and beef, contribute significantly more greenhouses gases per pound of meat produced than other other source of food. One pound of beef generates more CO2 than 1 gallon of gasoline burned.

#CeritalahASEAN started with Ceritalah 25 years ago in the early 90s - during the height of print media. In those days, The Economist, The Straits Times, The New York Times, were really flourishing. Much of the 80s and 90s, I met with and talked to editors across the world.
Those publications were really dynamic and powerful.

But we've seen those publications come down. WSJ stopped printing in Asia. Jakarta Globe stopped printing in 2015. KiniBiz, Volume in Thailand also stopped printing....

What has come up to replace those institutions?
