...Some say Leave promised trade deals and ask where they are. Well - the UK hasn't even left the EU yet. And anyway we'd have more chance of getting on with those if MPs didn't keep threatening to force the Government into a Customs Union with EU post-Brexit.....
...Others point to the so-called Brexit bill saying it wasnt raised during referendum. But we literally spent months discussing the size of the UK's contribution to the EU and it was perfectly obvious that the EU was going to ask for commitments during the MAFF to be honoured....
...And then others say Northern Ireland wasn't really discussed during the campaign. But I distinctly remember Sir John Major and Tony Blair campaigning on this *exact* point.

...At the heart of all this is a fundamental deception. Those demanding a so-called "people's vote" know that we had a people's vote already - it was the Referendum in June 2016...
...we sometimes hear that Leave should have warned about the complexity of leaving. But that's not how democracy works. You make your case and the other side makes their case. It's a dialectic....
...it's perfectly legitimate to say you want to ask the question a second time. But then don't be surprised if people don't consider you a democrat...
...and if you want a referendum on the deal - please explain how that works? Why would EU then have any incentive to give us a decent deal? And when would we "pause" process to have this campaign and referendum? And crucially what would alternative be - leaving with no deal?....
...it's true that British politics has been messy & bumpy for past 2 years. But can we please just get on with working out how we are going to leave EU smoothly. There are difficult choices to make and honesty is needed from our political class. But a 2nd referendum: please no.
