Ok, folks, it’s official. I’m now heading off the grid: No phone, no computer, no TV or other electronics until September 4th. Also won’t be reading any news or current events. How best to leave the Internet? With a Twitter thread of course!
I want to thank all of you who watch or listen to The Rubin Report, share our content and respectfully engage with me and with each other. The show, the reach and the community have exponentially grown and it’s been an honor to be on this journey with you.
After being on tour with @jordanbpeterson for the past few months I’ve met literally thousands of you who are starting to wake up and fight the pervasive groupthink of the day. There’s a sense the tide is turning and I’ve never felt more hopeful than I do right now.
Not only do the conversations that we’ve been having feel more relevant than ever, but by sharing my personal evolution with you, I think I’ve given you guys some room to evolve for yourself. How incrediblly cool that the Internet has allowed us to make that connection.
At the same time, while we’ve opened up a lane for honest conversation, plenty of people just want to push more and more hatred, dishonesty and division. It’s clear to me that they are running out of steam so will only get more desperate as they slide into irrelevancy.
It’s now on us to not only talk about important ideas, but figure out how to put the right ideas into action. That’s what I’ll be focusing on when I return in the fall. Let’s not only talk about problems but also offer solutions.
So when we return we will have a rebooted Patreon, focused on real community building and building positive relationships. We will also have a brand new website and totally revamped set. We are reinvesting in everything we do because we believe in this now more than ever.
As for August, I plan on reading, writing and relaxing. We have new episodes every week with some great guests including @the100MileMan @DrDebraSoh @MrColionNoir @Miss_Snuffy. When I return, we’re live with a special guest host who will catch me up on everything I missed.
I know some of you are gonna join me in your own way on this break whether it’s fully off the grid, just social media or on weekends etc. Fear not, it’ll all be here when we get we get back. As technology speeds up, breaks from the digital madness become vital.
We’ll have automated posts set to promote our upcoming shows but that’s it. We worked overtime in the midst of this tour to make sure we don’t leave you deprived of new content in August.
And on that note, I thank you again for being on this zany adventure with me. Now go enjoy the rest of your summer. I hope you spend time with friends and loved ones, eat great food and do whatever makes your heart happy. See you soon!
