It looks like we have to choose would we rather live in a socialist leaning country where meeting the needs of the people come first or a Putin like dictatorship where the 1% are catered to and the people are left to fend for themselves.
Trump went in promising to replace Obamacare with better cheaper coverage where preexisting conditions were covered and everyone had coverage. Instead his plan is to uninsure 20+million and the cost makes it unaffordable. Now junk policies with time limits get sick it's gone.
Trump promised an infrastructure plan which is sorely needed it would create millions of jobs and vastly improve out country. Yet nothing has been proposed except the wall. Roads, airports, bridges and all else isn't even discussed. Mexico was supposed to pay for wall not us.
Trump promised our vets would be cared for yet meals on wheels is cut, vision and dental at VA is gone and housing assistance is cut. Our vets need all those things yet they are cut. Move is to privatization is underway. Care level is going down.
Trump promised a middle class tax cut to help the vast majority. Instead he signed a bill where 80-90% goes to the top 1% and business entities. We have decreased real wages but hey stocks are soaring with our tax money companies are buying back stocks at record levels.
Trump promised to bring back jobs yet his tax plan is allowing companies to move like Carrier and Harley Davidson. The jobs being added are not good paying jobs they are at the lower levels. Wage increases are aimed at CEOs and upper management and increasing wage inequality.
Trump said he wanted to deport the bad criminals and MS13. Yet he's deporting people with green cards who are working, paying taxes, and who have no criminal records. Mothers, a Polish doctor, restaurant owners, who went to check in with ICE now gone.
Trump is still not understanding that it's an international law that people can apply for asylum. They are turned back or their babies are taken away. Then they have no attorney to advise them about forms in another language. The Hague is already citing us for human rights.
Trump ranted on and on about Hillary being investigated. Yet she voluntarily sat for hours and answered every question. Will he ever do that? No but even I know he can't talk for 15 minutes without lying. Yet there are dozens of flames around him.
If the first tax cut for the 1% wasn't enough Trump now wants to index Capital Gains. It will only cost 100 billion over 10 years. Applies to real estate and stock mainly. Remind me again what business Trump is in.
I look at Trump who ran as a populist and I had hoped he would take care of the forgotten middle class. He had the chance and at every turn he went to his far right. Now it's cut social security. It's trade wars, it's insult allies and brown nose our adversaries.
I could go on, but all I can say is we can at least slow down the attacks on our values, our people, our institutions by voting. It's on us to make the right choice. Please register, check your registration and VOTE! American democracy depends on the will of the people. VOTE
