This is sadly very true and it starts at the very top. For years Marine generals have have created a pervasive culture of misogyny thru words & policy. Marine boot camp is only non-integrated one in DoD. Every other branch has figured it out, ONLY reason USMC hasn't is sexism
Marine generals have spent countless hours testifying before Congress about inferiority of women Marines. When forced to allow women in combat roles, the tests & quals for those roles became much tougher overnight
The term WM (women Marines) has been used for decades by leadership & has always been a subtle dig & attempt to keep them as an other, outside REAL Marine warrior culture. This is also the real reason behind the policy of non-integration at boot camp
So don't buy their bullshit when they try to claim they don't know why the toxicity is so pervasive & don't know how to fight it
