Here's the full text of the new Telegraph article on the government's position on the rights of @The3Million in the event of no deal Brexit. A few thoughts. 1/
2/ First of all, it's obviously contradictory to say a) "we're taking the moral high ground" and "we are doing this to avoid labour shortages".

Anyway, the time to take the moral high ground was *summer 2016*, removing any anxiety for @The3Million from the outset.
3/ In particular, the government can't seriously claim the moral high ground now when one of its Brexit ministers referred to @The3Million as playing cards: theguardian.com/politics/2016/…
4/ Some points of detail: it's not clear if there would be any unilateral transition period, comparable to that under the withdrawal agreement. There wouldn't be a role for the CJEU. It's unknown if a monitoring authority would be set up, or if the CJEU case law would be followed
5/ The article refers to "close relatives" being admitted, but under the withdrawal agreement EU free movement law rules on family reunion would mainly only apply to those with a family link before the end of the transition period. Otherwise more restrictive UK law will apply.
6/ Finally, as for the @BritishInEurope it's important for MEPs like @Claude_Moraes @CharlesTannock and others to pressure the Commission to propose legislation to guarantee matching unilateral guarantees. See my proposal here: eulawanalysis.blogspot.com/2018/07/uk-cit…
