There is a village of difference between fighting for constitutional rights of a generality (all humans in a state) based on overwhelming common ground as against the campaign on rights based on personal preferences of a minority group.
From experience in my years of research that birthed the #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG Campaign, the review of laws is not a one man job. It takes a lot of collective effort & engagement bordering on political will of the generality. I don’t represent folks who look like me but All.
I’m familiar with the worn out strategy of targeting string voices and guilting them into the support of LGBTQ under the veil of Human Rights. Kindly note that in as much as I don’t use titles, I’m extensively learned in psychology and anthropology. These tricks won’t work.
Human Rights are Human Rights. A crime is a crime regardless of your tribe, religion, class or sexual preferences. Seeking what to be offended by in tweets merely stating the position of law is petty and outrightly ignorant. I stand for all humans & need no info on your sex life.
Our mandate is on constitutional rights. It stems from the position of the law & we will always point out violation of the authorities and ensure we protect every citizen from being maltreated even if they have been suspected to have contravened the law. This is what we do.
You expectation that I swiftly begin to do what was done with #EndSARS for LGBTQ is highly ambitious. That road is a long one in our society which general sees sexual preferences as defiling the natural order. See the Penal And Criminal Code. #Constitutionality
My personal mandate is to love all Men even if they think they are women. The rights to function as a human being is key & in trying to uphold your own right, you must not deny others of their own rights. My prerogative is not to fight preferencial battles but constitutional ones
The issues are clear;
Have you broken the law?
Have you been manhandled?
Were you denied your rights as a human being?
Were you denied access to a legal counsel?
Did we ensure you get fair representation?
These are the material facts for us.
A whole lot of people seeking political correctness may not be able to stand on matters like this but I am not one of them. I see some Presidential aspirants stammering and being railroaded just to be politically correct. Need I remind them all that Presidency is not Rulership.
It shouldn’t be difficult to see that a President is a leader of A Nation (All People) not over a tribe or people who seem to agree with you. You can’t afford to appease any group. Questions bordering on scientific and moral disputes are far from political but intrinsic.
We as a Movement will forever defend and fight for Constitutional/Human Rights especially those rights that are not based on choice that are being abused. Disability, Nationality, Color, Tribe etc fall under this. We didn’t choose to be born a Nigerian.
If it is my choice to be a drug dealer and I have a community where we rationalize this as warranting legislation I will be empowered to begin a campaign for this once there is a precedence. The world is progressive and it is progressively EVIL.
