Another Georgian, Confederacy VP Alexander Stephens, has a statue to him calling him a "PATRIOT," feet from Rosa Parks in Statuary Hall.

He penned arguably the most racist statement in American history, below:
Rep. John Lewis called for removing the statue in 2015; Stephens' family members in 2017.
Senate has a meeting room named in honor of Strom Thurmond, who set the record for longest filibuster opposing civil rights while having a secret black child, etc.
