OK. @HuffPostIndia has done more code analysis done by an Israeli Security researcher, that verifies the extent of hack. The code level changes are close to 26, whereas the ones I found was about 20 and the list matches.

Here is a public challenge to the @UIDAI and it's @ceo_uidai. Do you really want me to put out the source code of the patch and your original ECMP client, in the public domain, so that every JAVA developer in this country can verify if the hack is real by themselves?
I mean, researchers work thanklessly to get issues fixed, and follow all ethical disclosure norms so that most of the sensitive things are not put out and only the bare minimum essentials are given to the media. But this constant "vested interests" and "baseless" thing won't do.
The only side effect of me putting out the source code of the ECMP and the hack would be, it will make everyone run an Aadhaar enrollment center in their houses. A side effect I am sure is not a good thing. But then, that is the only way to fully put a stop to this denials.

That the finance minister @ArunJaitley saying this openly after it has been busted an year ago, speaks volumes about the "Quality of the data" that the govt has.

The @Worldbank itself told me over email that they were considering to issue a clarification about these numbers.
For anyone who cares about the truth, if at all.
There are emails that I have from the @WorldBank where they say things the govt will not like. The only reason, why I am not putting out in the public domain is because they requested not to publish them and treat it as "off the record".

And they thought I was a reporter.

Thread on why GST Invoice scam is related to vanishing companies and falling GST Returns.

1. Fake company gives fake invoice to real company with ₹1000 ITC.
2. Real company claims Input Credit. Gives back ₹100 as commission.

(Layer 1 of the scam)
Now, how will Fake Company 1 and Fake Company 2, will pay ITC of 1000? Simple answer: They invent one more layer of fake companies beneath them, with the same model of ITC and commission income, which will get us this.

(Now we are on the Layer 2 of the scam).
Wouldn't the govt. now be able to get the tax of 2000 from 4 different fake companies (500 ITC X 4)? Good question.

But notice that instead of tracking one/two, they now have to track 4 different companies and do invoice level tracking [which does not exist].

1. Everything in GST is based on Invoice level matching. This was a big architecture decision to control tax evasion.
2. Why so?
3. In the earlier Service tax regime, Businesses self declare the input tax credits based on incoming invoices.
4. They also self declare the output tax based on what they collected. And then they paid of the difference.
5. This meant there were many many means to evade taxes because there is no double entry book keeping across businesses.
6. Now this is why GST said "Invoice matching".

At the outset of the #Brexit process, most people assumed that a deal on #police and #judicial co-operation was easier to get than one on #trade. Time has shown this is not the case. Ongoing co-op on #JHA is one of the few items yet to be agreed on #withdrawal deal. Why?
Well, because the #EU and #UK's opening positions in the #negotiation are incompatible: Britain wants a #bespoke agreement with the EU, a la #Schengen, but is not willing to accept #ECJ or #EUCharter. EU wants to replicate existing models. What to do?
