1. "But Democrat candidates don't hold their candidates accountable sexual misconduct either!" I agree. Communities rarely hold their own accountable, and that's precisely what needs to change. That has no bearing on the truth of Prof Ford's claims, so stop saying it.
2. "It's politically motivated!"

a. it's normal for victims to be pushed over the edge and finally report when the abuser is gaining more power.

b. even IF it is, that doesn't change the seriousness if her claim is true. So let's treat it as important and try to find out.
"Her story is different from yours!" Actually, not much based on the evidence we both started with, and I went to the press before police because I didn't know I could still file a police report. Her evidence has strong probative value. I know. It's the same evidence I used.
"We're accepting every claim as true!"

No. We are saying her claims are serious, would have serious implications, and we should treat them as such, and do our best to weigh the evidence.
"But he was in highschool, so it doesn't matter!"

I would suggest that "hasn't committed a morally repugnant felony" should be on the list of qualifications for leaders holding some of the highest offices in the land. So let's do our best to evaluate these allegations.
"All men everywhere should be afraid!"

False allegations range between 2 and 8%.

25-30% of women have suffered sex abuse

Most abusers are male.

Out of 1,000 rapes, only 6 result in jail time.

Guard against false claims yes, but how hard are you fighting for justice?
