This is where political discourse stands at this moment in time in our country.

Let’s call this rant The Democrats’ Last Stand.

The party currently in power nominates an individual to fill a vacancy in the Supreme Court. They follow standard procedure and the nominee is vetted as all nominees are.

The opposition party objects. They disrupt the hearing with shameless showboating. They pay protestors to disrupt the proceedings. When that fails, they turn to Plan B.

They magically find an individual to make an accusation of an alleged incident from nearly four decades ago. When that story starts to unravel, they find a second accuser with an even weaker tale. They demand the nomination be halted.

The Democrats are not merely interested in stopping the nomination of a justice they oppose, they are out to destroy him. Destroy his life, his career, his family, every aspect of his life.

This is no longer politics. This is no longer debate. This is no longer differences in ideology.

This is war.

The Democrats are proving what we have known all along – they will stop at nothing to try to regain power. They will sink to any depth. They will abandon any principles. They will destroy anything in their way.

This is not surprising. Consider the actions of the Democrats over the last decade.

The last POTUS spent 8 years using the tools at his disposal – the IRS, DOJ & FBI – to attack his perceived political enemies. Laws be damned.

For the last two years, the Democrats have been engaged in “resistance”. They have leaked classified information openly. They even leaked testimony in a closed-door House hearing to the media in real time.

They have implored their supporters to engage in aggressive - if not outright violent – behavior to, as they put it, “push back” against GOP.

The GOP needs to come to an understanding. Their political opponents are no longer a political party. They are a wild-eyed, foaming-at-the-mouth, rage-filled group of anarchy-tinged activists. They have no ideas or plans. Their only reason for being is disruption.

The GOP cannot attempt to reason with this group. Reaching across the aisle is not possible.

How do you fight fire? With fire.

It’s time for the GOP to go scorched earth.

No more capitulation. No more extensions.

Schedule a vote. Proceed with the nomination.

They will never win over the happy idiots in the media. Don’t even try.

Continue investigations into the actions of the previous administration.

Indict anyone found to be in violation of the law.

Anyone. A-n-y-o-n-e.

The Democrats will sink to any level to push their agenda and to destroy the progress of the GOP. The GOP needs to understand this. And they need to fight back.

You are in power, GOP.

Start acting like it.
