1. OK, this is important. There should be no vote on Kavanaugh until investigators -- from Senate Judiciary, or preferably from the FBI -- interview his Georgetown Prep classmate Tim Gaudette
2. Gaudette emerged in today's testimony as the host of the July 1, 1982, party that was -- according to Kavanaugh's calendar -- attended by Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, P.J. Smyth, and "Squi" (apparently Chris Garrett), who apparently was a friend of Christine Blasey Ford
3. Ford testified that the party where she attacked was attended by Kavanaugh, Judge, P.J., and at least one other boy. She also said she saw Judge about 6 weeks later working in a Safeway. According to Judge's writing, he worked there in early-mid Aug., making July 1 viable.
4. Read Philip Bump's story in the Washington Post -- it makes the case for July 1 as a possible date of the attack and notes that Rachel Mitchell's questioning was terminated shortly after she asked about it. washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/…
5. Gaudette's name has only surfaced once in the affair -- he's appears in a yearbook photo with other football players as a "Renate Alumnus." He and three other teammates said they "never bragged about" sexual contact with Renate Dolphin
6. I couldn't get info on where Gaudette -- now a Denver businessman (and registered Democrat) -- might have lived in 1982. One online site lists a 60-year-old woman named Gaudette as a former resident of Chevy Chase, same town as the Columbia Country Club.
7. Of course, it's highly possible that Gaudette has no recollection of the July 1 party or whether Dr. Ford was there. It would also be a bizarre twist if the calendar that Kavanaugh volunteered as proof of his innocence instead offers key evidence.
8. Still, the fact that Gaudette is out there hiding in plain sight as the possible host of the party where the assault occurred is more proof that the vetting of Kavanaugh has been woefully inadequate. Add this to the long list of reasons there should be no Kavanaugh vote. -30-
