2/ My hope is that we'll soon learn this new story is false, and that the White House has not explicitly directed (nor could it) the Federal Bureau of Investigation to *ignore* a credible accusation of sexual assault. Because if they did, it's an *entirely new* national scandal.
3/ If this story stands, not only is this FBI investigation a *farce*, it *also* confirms that the White House deliberately acted to ensure that none of Kavanaugh's perjuries would be uncovered, any one of which would (or should) immediately disqualify him from the Supreme Court.
4/ Moreover, this means the White House *lied* to Senators Flake, Murkowski, and Collins, given they were all told that the FBI would investigate all "current allegations" of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, which *includes* those made by Julie Swetnick *in a sworn affidavit*.
5/ And Trump lied to America (again) about an FBI investigation:

6/ I remain unconvinced that the White House has the *authority* to issue *this* directive under *these* circumstances. There's going to be *much* more to this story. The idea that the FBI was handed a clandestine witness list that had to be leaked anonymously... it's *insane*.
7/ The Wall Street Journal is confirming that Trump's White House has ordered the FBI to ignore the sexual assault of Julie Swetnick.

8/ When Trump was being so "reasonable" yesterday, my direct messages were flooded with people saying that they suspected something was up, that he would never act that way unless he was lying. I'm ashamed to say now that I thought they were all being paranoid. How stupid of me.
9/ We need some clarity from the White House and the FBI *right now*. Because you have outlets like POLITICO trumpeting the "free rein" Trump gave the FBI, even as NBC/the WSJ say Trump secretly handcuffed the Bureau. So which is it? Media must find out.
