🤔 Ben Sasse just now from the Senate floor said he urged Trump to nominate someone different—a woman whom he doesn’t name—instead of Kavanaugh.
Sasse is also praising the #MeToo movement.
Sasse also said the #MeToo movement has been “co-opted by the cynics who run this town.”
Sasse says Trump is “dispositonally unable to restrain his ability to divide us.” He cited Trump’s mockery of Ford last night.
Sasse: “This is not about choosing to believe our daughters or protect our sons.” Calls it a false choice.
Sasse concluded his speech by saying the Kavanaugh vote is not a “proxy” up-or-down vote on the #MeToo movement.
