If you assume that the only way to halt anthropological global warming is through cutting emissions, this is beyond dispute. Or at least China + India.
That's why all the U.S. debates on this topic are so silly and dishonest. We could wipe out half our economy tomorrow (which no one would do) and it would have little long-term impact according to the very models used by the same alarmists who demand action.
Developing countries aren't just going to stop their growth. Therefore, even if you assume models are completely accurate, the only long-term solution is innovation. That's why those actually concerned about this issue focus on technological solutions, not economic restructuring.
