Then: get out & vote FOR 427 Medicaid Expansion
2/ No, no, NO—Milk’s NOT racist! You know what’s racist? NAZIS.
Up to 75% of the world’s population has lactose intolerance-but most can tolerate limited amounts of dairy; & dairy is GOOD for you! And it does NOT cause cancer!

3/ Scientists did find (in a MOUSE model) that THC fits in receptors in the olfactory bulb, causing increased smell & increased food intake. The same group also found that regular chronic marijuana use affected short-term memory. So…eat up—again.

4/ LOTS of folks get stool tests, whether it’s testing for infection, checking for blood or inflammation, or studying microbiome. There is NO SHAME in doing it.
As a reminder: Cologuard (stool colon cancer test) is not perfect, & only for those at avg risk of colorectal cancer.
5/ And now for the important stuff: The next several tweets are going to be about the importance of MEDICAID and how Medicaid expansion is a GOOD THING for Nebraska.
Because apparently #GOP doesn’t want a) folks to have health care or b) the economy to improve in NE.
Read on....
6/ It is a FACT that in 34 states w/Medicad expansion, there is NO evidence that taxes have incr, that there are less docs, or that its affected funding to other services.
In NE, 97% of office-based MDs accept new Mcaid pts.
& Mcaid is GOOD health care!

7/ In Kentucky, their uninsured rate fell from 20% to less than 8% in 3 YEARS with Medicaid Expansion. They also saw a 33% reduction in people who suffered medical bankruptcy.

8/ Another article looking at the longer-term success of Medicaid expansion in Kentucky:

9/ In states that expanded Medicaid Expansion, they found that kids were less like to drop out of school; and there was also a decrease in the crime rate--related likely to the fact that Medicaid supports all mental and substance abuse health programs.

10/ Michigan’s Medicaid expansion expanded coverage to approx. 600K low-income people; created 30K new jobs (85% in private sector) & generated $145MIL in new state revenue.

11/ When Montana expanded Medicaid in 2016 to >90K people—and has generated A HALF A BILLION DOLLARS, of which 70% ($350-500 MIL) is “new money” in Montana’s economy. It has reduced state spending and increased economic activity, increasing state revenue.

12/ FINALLY: if you want to save lives:
EXPAND MEDICAID AND:
-save 14K lives, & 141 infant lives
