Apologists hassle @MaajidNawaz because he suggests a religious / cultural influence in the crimes of Muslim "grooming" gangs. Do those detractors think it's a magic coincidence that these crimes fit so perfectly with Muslim fundamentalists' broader misogyny and rape culture?
ISIS and Boko Haram seize girls / women and keep them as sex slaves. That's the exact same mentality -- just manifested through militant violence rather than as shadowy crime.
Tribal courts in Pakistan sentence girls and women to gang rape as a punishment. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and fundamentalist fathers / brothers around the world force hijabs, niqabs, and burqas on women -- along with the notion that "uncovered" girls are fair game.
These attitudes all blend together and create cultures where Islamic misogynists see girls / women as prizes, property, and prey. Particularly "uncovered" infidel women, whom these bigots regard as enemy property they can despoil.
Since this way of thinking can be found in the Quran and Hadith, whom do the apologists believe they're kidding? If the truth makes you uncomfortable, that's understandable. It's vile stuff. But don't pretend it isn't central to how Muslim fundamentalists / supremacists think.
