THREAD: A question of policing priorities. Today, an investigation begins into why senior police officers failed to take action over Rotherham child abuse allegations. Over 1,500 girls were raped & sexually exploited by Muslim grooming gangs
news.sky.com/story/senior-s…
It's been called "the biggest child protection scandal in UK history". Yet reports written by Dr Angie Heal between 2003-2006 were ignored. A senior officer finally said looking into these sex rings was not as important as "burglary and car crime"
Fast forward to today. A "misogyny hate crime" policy piloted in Nottingham is being recommended for national roll-out. Among its recommendations is that wolf whistling should be recorded as a "hate incident"
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…
So can we conclude that pursuing allegations of wolf whistling is a viable use of police time, whereas investigating the rape, torture and drugging of girls was not? The evidence is here. What can we conclude from this strange inversion of priorities?
Conclusion: Rotherham police lacked the guts to pursue real crimes that were too difficult, for fear of what? Offending "the community?" For this, those responsible for turning a blind eye should be jailed for a very long time. Justice needs to be done
Meanwhile, lawmakers look to invent new, petty crimes, such as wolf whistling, to boost crime figures. "Look, sorry about Rotherham and all, but we're taking misogyny seriously now!" It's for this reason the general populace loses faith in justice
Over three years ago now, I had a senior (female) criminal barrister tell us why it would be impossible to make wolf whistling a hate crime, yet still we waste time on this piffle telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-m…
And, in all that time, hoe many senior councillors, police and all those who turned a blind eye in Rotherham have been jailed? Answers, please, on the world's smallest postcard >> ENDS
