At my farmers market this morning. Notice anything about the pictures? 
This pics are not staged. The GOP guys were all wearing hunting clothes, red caps (a couple of them were wearing caps from the DC football club with the offensive name), had flags covering the table, and (although you can't see it in this shot), they brought a German shepherd.
Someone came by the Dem table and said, "Oh look. The guys brought the Hermann Goering police dog today."
The dog was nice though. But he was scary looking.

Whenever one of our neighbors of color came by, they veered FAR away from the GOP table and came over and talked with the Dem women. Including a number of older white men who went out of their way to say how much they disagreed with the guys in the red caps.
One gentleman, about 75 or so, said, "Those men are crazy. I'm with you."
That was nice.

Although I wasn't there when it happened, a young black girl did try to talk with the men. She was doing a homeschooling project on the election.
They wouldn't talk with her her. They said she wasn't of "voting age."

She came back with her mother. They answered the girl's question then. And they approved of her being homeschooled. But then they warned her, "Don't let your mother brainwash you into being a victim."
The mother was not happy -- came across and shared the story with the Dem women.
About an hour later, the father showed up and asked the men to explain themselves -- why they'd used the word "victim."

He was extraordinarily civil. But you could tell he was super upset. He came over and asked us what had happened as well. He was clearly a really good dad. He wished us well.
The Dem women said that all morning they'd watched people come up to the GOP table, ask the men to take down the signs about mobs, talk about neighborhood harmony. And they mostly got argument and yelling. And, of course, the scary police dog.
Meanwhile, the Dem women were giving out Halloween cookies.
