Today Inmates from #HarrisCounty @HCSOTexas WHO HAVE NOT GONE TO TRIAL OR BEEN FOUND GUILTY of ANY CRIME, are being held in a Jackson County Louisiana COR Facility. Since NOV 9 & still today NOV14, there has been NO RUNNING WATER. Feces & Urine are overflowing toilets (cont)
Harris County Inmates (STILL ASSUMED INNOCENT) are only being given bottled water 3 times per day. 12 Ounce Bottles! No wipes or cleaning of their bodies. No Medical care being offered. At least 25% of inmates are now ill from filth. Some even showing signs of MRSA (cont)
Harris County inmates being held in Jackson County, Louisiana have been refused medical care when written requests have been filled. The group which is majority Black and Latino is unable to contact their Public Defenders back in Texas. Books and notes sent to (cont)
these inmates being held in 3rd world conditions and without cleanliness or healthcare are being diverted or stolen outright by corrections officers in the Jackson County, LA jail. Even when books are sent from @amazon & SIGNED FOR by deputies, they still keep them. (cont)
These #HarrisCountyTX inmates who cannot afford pricey attornies are being thrown into a Hell-Hole. NO RUNNING WATER FOR 6 DAYS & DISEASE WITH NO HEALTHCARE. This sounds more like a Central American Prison than the USA. THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN FOUND GUILTY! (cont)
I'm NO BLEEDING HEART about people who break the law. BUT, THIS IS AMERICA! You ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Harris County Inmates SHOULD NOT be held in inhumane and conditions that violate their civil rights when they haven't even gone to court yet! #TXisBetterThanThis
