2. Unbegleitete Minderjährige und Familien in Asylverfahren sollten innerhalb weniger Tage in griechischen Hotels in Quarantäne untergebracht werden. Dafür braucht Griechenland finanzielle Unterstützung.

What happens if Covid-19 reaches the refugee camps on the Greek islands?

We asked local helpers from Pikpa, @MVI_Greece, @Sport4Refugees and others to give us the answer.

Watch for yourself 👇🏼👇🏼 1/3
And here is really good video from the tent and community builders on Lesvos @motgofficial on the situation right now... 2/3

Regretfully, Joe Biden's healthcare plan discriminates against those too poor to pay. It leaves 10 million Americans behind, & will result in 125k unnecessary deaths over 10 years.

Either healthcare is a human right, or it isn't.

It's great that everyone is coming together around this crisis. But people are in crisis everyday. 500 mil Americans go bankrupt from medical debt every year. 68 mil are un or underinsured. We've been in a state of emergency. We need a president who acts like it. #Bernie2020

#DevelopmentCongress yesterday saw @KVairavamoorthy opening the event with a thought, when we can maintain a town sized community of 750,000 people airborne at any given time with modern water & sanitation amenities, what stops us from providing it to our fellow humans (1/n)
Drawing from his heritage, he noted, "it is the management of water and sanitation that has determined the longevity and exuberance of civilizations". #Resilience #Sanitation #ClimateResilience (2/n)
The tank systems prevalent in Sri Lanka and South of India were drawn as examples, as attempts by decision makers then to maintain an ecological balance while attempting to improve economic prosperity #EcologicalCivilization (3/n)

@RClarkeDFID tweeted this week about @LSHTM innovation to help people with disabilities access quality eye-tests (huge unmet need).

Want more on @DFID_Research 's new work..?
DFID has long supported DID research - starting long before DFID was DFID.

If you like your research methods ‘old skool’ head back to 2001 (SocSci&Med) for ODA-funded research on Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) in urban India in '90s.... 2/14
....ancient history but focused on a pressing need to evaluate <quality> & <effectiveness> of DID services (e.g. compare goals of service users with those of providers; & whether goals were met).

In 2019... Quality/Measurement/Effectiveness are still pressing questions...

This is Zokutu community on the outskirts of Kuje Area Council in Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory, #Abuja. With approximately 3000 people living in this community, this cave is the only source of water – drinking, bathing, laundry

#ZokutuNeedsWater #GlobalGoals #SDG6
The total absence of drinking water in #Zokutu community attracted the @mediaforcc team to visit and tell the first-hand story of #WaterPoverty experienced.

With poor road network, limited telecommunication access & mud houses, the level of development in #Zokutu is less than basic; more severe is the zero access to drinking water resulting in illnesses & deaths.

On #WorldWaterDay2019, we are reminded that Water is at the heart of all SDGs and no sustainable goal can be fully achieved without Water

Its interesting to see the connection between Water and all 17 SDGs

#WorldWaterDayNG #LeaveNoOneBehind

Goal 1: No Poverty
Access to water at homes reduces the time spent by most people walking long distances in search of water. Time spent in search of water can be spent going to school early and engaging in other productive ventures that can break poverty cycles in homes.
Goal 2: Zero Hunger

How do you grow food without water? To ensure zero hunger, water for irrigation is key! How about Sea food? Maybe we'll reconsider this when we have fish & other aquatic lives thriving on land, but until then... Water is needed to support aquatic lives.

A few days ago I came across a news story of a young lady called Misozi been appointed as MD of @ilovezoona. A few Google search’s later, I was even more intrigued by her story and decided I had to meet her & get to know a bit more about her.
Misozi’s father passed away when she was 8, so her mom was breadwinner. Unfortunately her mothers’ eyes gave up and she had to stop her tailoring business. Her older brother had to take on the responsibility of putting himself and 4 siblings through school.
After passing High School, she got a place at Evelyn Hone College. Unfortunately after one semester, her brother informed her that he couldn’t continue with school fees and she would have to look for a job so that he could assist her other siblings.
