Massive freakout by activists/gender clinicians on the Transgender Health (formerly WPATH SOC7) public FB page coz @PsychToday had the audacity to publish on #ROGD. Make no mistake: These ppl want to suppress any evidence that challenges their narrative.

The **moderator** of that public FB group added this to the thread. Is it any wonder there's a backlash against trans activism, when people like this libel a researcher whose crime was surveying parents of #ROGD trans-identified teens? "Active violence"

1/ In 2015, the mother of a young adult w/Down Syndrome fundraised for "top surgery," even when her daughter was in ICU w/serious health issues. Those of us who uncovered/revealed it in 2015 assumed it would peak-trans many people. No one, outside a few blogs, said a word.
(This is the archived GenderTrender post from 2015, which gives the whole story of the fundraising campaign for double mastectomy for a Down Syndrome patient in the ICU, and Olson-Kennedy's involvement in it).

Anyone who knows anything about Down Syndrome will be aware that people who have it often also have many serious comorbid health problems--problems severe enough to land someone in an intensive care unit.

Here's an idea: Trans activists could campaign to get TSA to hire more trans security officers to perform searches on trans passengers. Why is it that women (in this case, female TSA agents) are always the ones who have to just suck it up & bear the brunt of trans outrage?
A true trans rights movement would campaign for solutions w/out taking away other ppl's rights. Instead, it's always about centering trans ppl, usually at women's expense. And in the case of TSA, at the expense of public safety. Guess what: hijackers hide stuff in the groin area.

This is only an extreme example of something getting more common by the day. One news story in the US (if we even get one) isn't enough. A brave editor (in MSM not blogs or rightwing outlets) must stand behind their journos & take this on as a regular beat--like @thetimes

So I want to discuss the topic of #ROGD that is being mentioned in #ROGDWEEEK2018.

I realized I was trans when I was around 8-10 years old. Until puberty hit, I was able to justify the difference between my body and my brother's body as us just being born different. 1/
But when puberty hit, it was like everything about myself betrayed who I was. I was growing breasts, I started my period, I started looking more feminine.

Up until my first period, I was able to justify and deal with being trans. When it happened, dysphoria hit with it. 2/
I didn't have any of the signs or symptoms listed today for childhood gender dysphoria, so by the thoughts in #ROGD I would have had rapid onset. It didn't matter that I knew I was trans for a year or more before my first period, my GD was "rapid" and started with puberty. 3/

this piece begins w/500 words on: 1) transgender is spectrum, 2) trans sub-categories aren't discrete, 3) trans trajectories are varied (& all are valid), 4) trans & cis are not mutually-exclusive (due to questioning ppl), 5) therefore cisgender is not a stable category
honestly, I don't know how anyone could write a realistic #trans/GNC #children article without stating all this from the get-go. unsurprisingly, Singal ignores most, if not all, of this. which is one of the reasons ppl find his piece so distorted/biased...
