Don't @ me with "you should listen to people you disagree with." Not when they're saying some of my students they have to courteously sit there and take arguments from people who literally deny their full humanity.
It's telling that only upper-middle and upper-class white men are the ones chastising us about The Discourse™ and Both Sides. Easy to say when your basic rights have never been the object of Liberal Debate Club.
I get that this mushy "free speech crisis" stuff is part of the grifter-industrial complex, but you don't get to call yourself an "advocate for students" if you think having them listen to racists deny their humanity will somehow let you be Mr. Keating, saving minds and souls
If you think Haidt and Lukianoff are right in their assessment of what ails higher ed, you simply aren't listening to students.
