Mueller's latest memo devotes a lot of space to Flynn's false statements to DOJ about being Turkish foreign agent. 440 out of 1380 words, by my count. Mueller has interviewed Flynn's lobbying client. NYT has reported that Mueller was investigating possible kickbacks.
Flynn's plea deal included stipulation that Mueller's office would not prosecute him for anything mentioned in his statement of offense. The false statements about being Turkish lobbyist was listed, which means he could not be prosecuted for that. But he could cooperate.
The Peter Smith email hunt is a wild card. Flynn supposedly met Smith in 2015 and Smith told associates that Flynn was involved in hunt for Clinton's deleted emails. Except nothing seems to have come of that project. No emails were released.
On top of that, Smith seems to have embellished his project. He claimed in a memo to associates that several people were involved in the hunt. But those people, Tom Fitton and James O'Keefe, deny any involvement.
Jerome Corsi was also in contact with Peter Smith. But he writes in his new book that prosecutors were wholly uninterested in Smith. They only wanted to talk about Roger Stone and WikiLeaks.
The Ukraine peace plan that Michael Cohen passed to Flynn seems like a good possibility. Cohen hatched that plan with Felix Sater and a Ukrainian politician. It called for relaxed sanctions against Russia, which fits with Flynn's discussions with Kislyak.
