Periodic reminder that a former Dianne Feinstein staffer funded by wealthy progressives has been working with Fusion GPS and Chris Steele to continue the Trump-Russia investigations and seed stories in the press. dailycaller.com/2018/12/12/dem…
Dan Jones, the Feinstein staffer who hired Fusion and Steele, sent a link to one Reuters news story, and commented: "Our team helped with this." This is the story: reuters.com/investigates/s…
Jones also texted an associate a link to a McClatchy story, though he did not specifically claim to have helped with that one. The bylines on the story will be familiar: mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-wo…
The attribution on that McClatchy piece is "two people familiar" -- the same attribution as the April 13 Cohen-Prague story and as another Russia story that can be traced back to Fusion GPS's Glenn Simpson.
Glenn Simpson told Bruce Ohr in Dec. 2016 that conservative lawyer Cleta Mitchell expressed concerns at NRA about Russian funding. Lo and behold, on March 15, McClatchy reports the same information, again citing "two people familiar." web.archive.org/web/2018031601…
The main problem is that Cleta Mitchell was no longer affiliated with NRA during the 2016 campaign.
