I'll try as much as possible to convey my thoughts. Granted not everyone will get it but that's ok.

On this 3rd Force matter, our politics as currently set up at least at the Federal level dictates that only a candidate of one of the 2 main parties is guaranteed victory in 2019.
I get the frustration with the 2 main parties. Same old same old. Same set of people who got us here. I also get the moral standing of those who will rather not support either. It helps them sleep well at night & that shouldn't be interfered with. Perfectly ok by me.
So let's interrogate the likely outcome. You vociferously support a 3rd force candidate & on election day, a candidate from the major parties emerge winner. You are fulfilled that you stayed true to your conscience but the same people still end up in power despite your angst.
The winner from the major party is not going to implement the programme of your 3rd Force candidate. You're still here & the candidate of a major party is going to run the country in a way you don't like. Your position won't affect them one way or another.
The best change is the one you can influence from the inside. Outside, all you're left with is pontification & wishful thinking. Inside, you stand a chance of lighting your candle in your corner & working gradually to get others to do same. Not easy but what's the alternative?
Examples abound here of people who have worked in an imperfect system but excelled in their corner. From Akin at LSETF to Mark Okoye in Anambra to great guys in Kaduna to Ezenmuo in Abuja. They are not 'one of them' but they are driving/drove change from the inside.
It will not happen overnight. The hawks still dominate the system but they will continue to for as long as those with capacity & potentials either stay away or support a non-starter 3rd Force. I believe the desired revolution will happen from the inside. Not from the outside.
That is why despite my opposing views with Nedu Ekeke, I bear him no grudge. He had a desire to see his State run differently & he supported/still supports an alternative. That is how it is realistically done. External idealism won't move any pin in the grand scheme of things.
So to cut a short thread even shorter, my recommendation, find a movement with a fair chance of victory albeit an imperfect one, work with them, get in or close enough to be heard & push the change you want to see. It's not ideal but that's the lemonade we can make from our lemons
There. I said it.

And yes, Atiku for President.
