Neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer has recently become extremely enamored with the NRA's messaging, specifically the NRA's tendency to target Jews for public criticism and that the organization openly tolerates anti-Semitism by its leadership.
This has lead Daily Stormer to make a number of pushes for its supporters to join the NRA. The Daily Stormer claims, “The number 1 source of new recruits for the NRA has always been the Daily Stormer.”
What is most disturbing is Daily Stormer sees the NRA as a tool for anti-Semites to carry out violence against Jews, including in the following threatening quotes from articles on its website:
Daily Stormer also backs the NRA's wildly unhinged positions on gun regulation. For example after the Parkland shooting, The Daily Stormer backed the NRA's calls to arm teachers and went further saying students should be armed so they can shoot their Jewish classmates.
The Daily Stormer really likes five members of NRA leadership in particular: executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, President Oliver North, national spokesperson Dana Loesch, NRATV correspondent Chuck Holton, and NRA board member Ted Nugent.
LaPierre caught The Daily Stormer's attention when he gave a speech after Parkland where he called NRA opponents "European-style socialists," which Daily Stormer says is a clear dog whistle for Jews. Indeed, as the Huffington Post recently documented: huffingtonpost.com/entry/nra-anti…
The Daily Stormer celebrated when Oliver North became president of the NRA, citing North's role in the Iran-Contra scandal to argue that North could get Iran weapons so it could attack Israel.
In terms of NRA spot Dana Loesch, Daily Stormer celebrated how the NRA didn't fire her after 2010 anti-Semitic tweet she sent was unearthed. Instead they praised the NRA for giving her a show on NRATV "to destroy the Jews." More on the NRATV show here: mediamatters.org/research/2018/…
Chuck Holton, a frequent face on NRATV, once said on the outlet that Black people were poised to rape and murder whites in the U.S. Daily Stormer responded by writing, "Holy shit! The NRA cited the White Genocide in South Africa as a warning to America!”
So while I was doing this thread Twitter locked my account for violating its "hateful conduct policy." I did no such thing -- I was exposing the hateful and dangerous conduct of others.
Twitter just unlocked my account, the message I received still makes it seem like I violated Twitter policies. I'll continue the thread where I left off, with NRATV correspondent Chuck Holton.
At NRATV, Holton repeatedly pushed the conspiracy theory that George Soros was behind the migrant caravan, a remarkably similar conspiracy theory to the one that inspired the man who committed a massacre at a Pittsburgh synagogue. mediamatters.org/blog/2018/10/2…
And finally, The Daily Stormer pointed out to its readers that the NRA didn't take action against Ted Nugent after Nugent shared an anti-Semitic meme on social media.
The bottom line is that the NRA is complicit in this situation. It's not like Daily Stormer picked some random conservative group to back. It picked the NRA because of the NRA's actions of targeting Jews and allowing its leaders to engage in anti-Semitism. /end
Post-script: Around the time my account was locked I was receiving messages from the NRATV correspondent @rangerholton, who is discussed in my article. In one of his tweets to me he deadnames Caitlyn Jenner, which is actually a violation of Twitter policies.
Holton is extremely odious as my article showed. He recently went on air on NRATV to say that if a mass shooting happened at Media Matters "Those clowns ... they'd be curled up on the floor in the fetal position"
