Maybe offer them a backstop. No wait...
People often seen confused by what the backstop is. You know what it really is? It's what happens when you force Brexiters to keep their promises. It's what happens when you don't let them lie anymore.
They said a million times they could guarantee there'd be no hard border in Ireland. And the backstop puts that promise in law.
Now they say: Get rid of the law and we'll offer an "assurance". No-one believes your assurances.
A towering edifice of lies, stacked one upon the other.

The idea that we shouldn't have a second referendum because we'll be divided is very strange indeed. We already are divided. It already happened. You cannot wish it away. It is tantamount to just giving up the fight.
What matters is whether the winners are prepared to reach out to the other side and address their grievances. After two years it is clear Brexiters cannot do that. They won't even do it with their own side.
May had two years, two years in which at least half the Remainers I knew would have backed Brexit if they'd been given anything to work with. They were not.

Just met an amazing man in Endcliffe Park, Sheffield. Tony Foulds was an 8-yr-old playing in the park when a US plane crashed in Feb 1944. He has diligently maintained the memorial ever since. He was planting new flowers. Almost 75 yrs of service. What a man. I’m in bits 😢👏🏻

Wait, people are surprised to learn Beto O’Rourke is one of the less-liberal Democrats in Congress? Duh! He’s from Texas, not Massachusetts. Of course he leans to the middle. The word “progressive” has lost its meaning entirely. We need to stop applying it to people at random.
This isn’t a “Beto is good” or “Beto is bad” take. I’ve always liked him. I pushed hard for him in 2018. I’ve also always known that he’s very moderate, far less liberal than I am. Also, he could evolve to the left if he runs for president. But the point is this:
You have to look at someone’s record if you want to know what it is. Cable news is married to certain narratives, and the foot stompers of the far left never do their homework before getting behind someone. Again, I like Beto, a lot. But his record shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Today we’re going to talk statistics and semantics. I’m going to do so via the medium of one of Twitter’s favourite stats 1.7% (aka “intersex is as common as red heads.”). The statistic comes from Fausto-Sterling’s work, which you can see a review of here

To understand the statistic, we have to drill down into what the meaning of the word intersex is. Most people think of hermaphrodites. Let’s stress at the beginning there has been no example ever of a human being with both sets of working reproductive organs.
There is a very tiny percentage of people who are born with both testicular and ovarian tissue (what Fausto-Sterling calls “true hermaphrodites”). And when I say tiny, we’re talking intersex tiny, as in 0.0117/1,000 live births, or one in 1,000,000. These are very complex cases.

What’s so insulting about people like @TalibKweli and the ignorant people that follow him is how dishonest they are. While they consider us “racist” for simply not thinking as they do, we are meeting with the president and actually working to improve the American black community.
What are you doing to empower the black community, @TalibKweli? While the org I work for is hosting inspiring, empowering conferences for hundreds of black Americans, introducing them to the president and incredible people like @SecretaryCarson, what are you doing? I want to know
Lastly, @TalibKweli, can you tell me who compensates you to intentionally try to keep the black community aligned with “the hood”? I know it can’t be your music career.

1/12 I studied law which included UK constitutional and EU law. I had a fair understanding of the implications of #Brexit. 2 years on and becoming a volunteer legal writer for @infacts I have learned SO much more thanks to #Brexit
2/12 It’s been a lot of fun going back to the laws and refreshing my memory as well as building on that.
3/12 It is very important to note that the subject of the UK and EU is very complex and it’s reaches are vast. There were areas that we all were not aware of (#Brexiters and #Remainers) until #brexit became a reality.
