NOTE: A week after George Nader offered Trump collusive assistance—believed to be *money*—on behalf of Saudi Arabia, Elliott Broidy's lawyer Michael Cohen cleared a huge payment to David Pecker to kill the McDougal story. Post-election, guess who paid Broidy tons of money? Nader.
/ Do people realize how easy it would've been for Broidy to reimburse Cohen via payment for "legal services," with Nader reimbursing Broidy and Saudi Arabia (MBS) reimbursing Nader? These are open questions I'm certain are being investigated. That Broidy helped Trump is clear...
/ ...as he said he was the father of a child many thought was Trump's and then, in the transition, lobbied Trump over business in the Middle East. In other words, don't be so sure the McDougal story doesn't dovetail with collusion at the level of covert payments/reimbursements.
/ In any case, I'm intrigued that the AMI statement holds the possibility it wasn't exclusively "members" of the Trump campaign but also "agents" (which in this context could mean the same or a different thing) who approached Pecker about the $150,000 on/around August 10, 2016.
/ I say that there's some uncertainty surrounding the terminology in the AMI statement because of course a member of the Trump campaign is legally an agent of the campaign. So I wonder why "agents" are listed in the statement as a separate category. That could be very revealing.
/ Michael Cohen was of course an agent of the campaign rather than a "member," but so too could any number of people fit into that legal category. I think what's clear is that even with Cohen's convictions, there's a lot more for us to learn about the money behind these payoffs.
