Here’s how you do Christmas music: the definitive guide. Dec 15-20: keep it light and modern. Explore the new rocker Christmas songs. Check out @johnlegend this year. Toward the end of this period pare down to the sure classics like Mariah 1/
Dec 21-23: the Jazz Age. Get your Dizzy, Ella, Louis. IMPORTANT: now is the time to introduce instrumentals only too. This will be pivotal for the big day. You can start a light LIGHT rotation of the real classics Bing and co. but be careful. You don’t want to blow it here. 2/
Dec. 24: Don’t haste. Have the list ready at your bedside and start it off. Heavy heavy classics on repeat. White Christmas, Holly Jolly Christmas, and my favorite Marshmallow World. If the song has written while you have been alive, you’re doing it wrong. Sound volume up.
Dec.25 Morning: Deep breath. You’re going to be tempted to continue yesterday’s delights but don’t. Put on your new pajamas, grab that pastry, because we’re going all instrumental/ choir. And it’s the reason for the season. Angels, Shepherds, Mangers. Mormon Tabernacle choir
Dec. 25th Day: Christmas song chili. EVERYTHING. All of it. Turn it up to 11. Now you can take some risks. Yes I do like Christmas in Killarney, sure Let’s bring in Weird Al, or that weird kissing Santa Claus. We know this is our last go and and people are starting to turn. 5?/
Dec. 25th Night: Pleasantly buzzed and sentimental, it’s time to take stock. Important to have a well-curated play list ready. Pull back from heavy themed and start slowing the roll. Elvis, The Carpenters, jazz. This part is hard, but end the night back to our instrumentals. /fin
