So the #SpecialCounsel’s Office filed their #documents responding to the Order by #JudgeSullivan in the case of Lt. General Mike Flynn.

@GenFlynn @mflynnJR @JosephJFlynn1 @FlynnJack515 @jetsjets @KimStrassel @Comey @MarkSZaidEsq @petestrzok
#FD302 #Form302 #MissingDocument
That filing and reactions to it have brought to mind Stephen Fry’s brilliant insight about human nature and ignorance: “The only reason people do not know much is because they do not care to know. They are incurious. Incuriousity is the oddest and most foolish failing there is.”
“Incuriousity is the oddest and most foolish failing there is.”
When the filing was made, I pulled it down using my electronic access the DC federal court filing database. I immediately saw that #SpecialCounsel had not filed a contemporaneously prepared report of the interview of General Flynn by two @FBI agents in January 2017.
The filing does not mention such a report. The filing does not excuse the absence of such a report. All that the #SpecialCounsel filed was another form, also an FD-302, of an interview with @petestrzok conducted MONTHS after the Flynn interview.
Some of you are saying, “Big deal, maybe there wasn’t a FD-302 prepared in relation to the January interview of Flynn.”

Well, ask the @FBI what are its practices? What are its expectations for the conduct of agents conducting such interviews?
You know the answer. Or, you would, if you were not so … incurious. This lack of inquisitiveness allows you to plumb the depths of life with a teaspoon rather than a yardstick and keeps you satisfied with completely unsatisfactory behavior by your government.
Why so frigging incurious?
Are the risks of discovering a different truth than the one to which you’ve sworn your allegience for the last two years too great? Too much risk of cognitive dissonance? Too uncomfortable?
So, for a minute, let’s pretend that @FBI agents are expected to prepare an FD-302 summarizing their interviews of individuals.

We really can pretend that, because the internet has given us access to so much evidence of that practice.
Here are a couple examples of the preparation of FD-302 forms providing contemporaneous summations of interviews. One is related to the Kennedy assassination, the other to the anthrax attacks in Washington, DC.
Here’s a FD-302 on the JFK assassination:

jfk.hood.edu/Collection/Wei…

Look at the form. It is an FD-302 dated 12/2/63 for an interview conducted on 11/30/63. That’s three days from interview through transcription to signing and submission.
Here’s an FD-302 out of the @FBI Vault on the anthrax investigation:

vault.fbi.gov/Amerithrax/ame…

Look at it. It is an FD-302 dated 02/06/2007 for an interview conducted on 02/01/2007. That's five days from interview through transcription, to signing and submission.
According to the Office of the Inspector General, “FD-302s are the forms used by the FBI to record investigative activity, particularly, although not exclusively, the results of interviews.” You can see that quotation at oig.justice.gov/special/0203/c….
So, now, to the incurious among us:

Are you the least bit curious about an @FBI FD-302 that would reflect an interview date of January 24, 2017, and a signing and submission date of, perhaps, January 30-February 2, 2017?
No questions at all about a form that should have been produced pursuant to standard @FBI practice?

No questions about why such a form was NOT produced in response to #JudgeSullivan’s #Order?
No questions about why the #SpecialCounsel offered no explanation for the absent form, no justification for reliance on a completely different FD-302, one summarizing the interview with Strzok?
This is the problem of the incurious mind. It is the poverty of chattering class. And it is the shame of the @FBI and this Nation.
