I was thinking about this today, so I thought I should let you know that I spent months trying to pitch the idea of a book that was similar to what we did in TCOT (not as good as) and it was rejected by at least 10 publishers.

They said such a book would never sell.
This year was pretty crazy - and exciting - and I had a chance to do so many things I never thought I would do. The fact that this book was created in collab. with someone like @dgjones - a genuine, talented, gentle and incredible person, is what makes this project so special.
It was never about ME or my work. It's the way we managed to show the best of both of us that made this book so amazing. If I had done it myself, alone, it would not have been so good.
I am also very grateful to @HoZ_Books because they treat this project with so much respect and love.
And also grateful to you, for your support, love, for your enthusiasm when I publish a new photo, and for supporting The Colour of Time so much. That really means a lot.
And of course - for supporting @FacesAuschwitz. I've read about the Holocaust since I was 10, and I never imagined that I would be able to dos omething meaningful to keep those people's memories from being forgotten.
The fact that you and @AuschwitzMuseum trust me and allow me to do this is incredible, and I am also VERY grateful for it.
I flew to Poland and was on the verge of freezing many times, with a bunch of guys I met on Twitter to shoot a self-funded documentary at Auschwitz.

I have no idea how the hell this happened, but I'm glad it did.

Not everything was incredible and I had to deal with my depression again but I'm getting better and overall, I loved every second of this year and all the projects I had the pleasure to collaborate with.

I hope you can say the same and I wish you all a wonderful new year!

Amelia Earhart was declared dead #OnThisDay in 1939.

She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Earhart was the daughter of Samuel "Edwin" Stanton Earhart and Amelia "Amy". She was born in Atchison, Kansas, in the home of her maternal grandfather, Alfred Gideon Otis, who was a former federal judge, the president of the Atchison Savings Bank.
According to family custom, Earhart was named after her two grandmothers, Amelia Josephine Harres and Mary Wells Patton. From an early age, Amelia was the ringleader while her sister Grace Muriel Earhart (1899–1998), two years her junior, acted as the dutiful follower.

So the National Review says that a student was disciplined just for asking a girl out on a date. That would be a great example of Title IX overreach. But it's not what happened.

Let's summarize what happened. First, he kept asking her out and attending her dance classes. /1
He's making her uncomfortable, so she sends him a firm message to please cut it out, and he apologizes. According to his lawyer, he backs off for a while. /2
He keeps attending her dance classes, and there's no good way to kick him out. He starts asking for private dance lessons and she keeps firmly telling him no. /3

This is a fascinating idea.

You create text, and then that text gets turned into a URL.

And the trick is that all of the text is stored directly in the URL—Nowhere else.

Why would this be useful?

The main reasons I can think of are:
1. Styling & formatting (you can use full HTML)
2. Taking advantage of Twitter's built-in link-shortening

That is, you can include a full page of styled content in a URL, which then can be included in a Tweet.
You can do a stripped-down version of this with Data URIs.

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether

It is kind of odd for the President’s lawyers to be citing this comment—with which I have some passing familiarity—as evidence that @Comey was content with the White House’s interactions with the FBI. The entire point of the conversation was the FBI needed protection...
...from the White House and that he had spent months trying police the White House’s attempts to engage with the Bureau improperly on investigative matters. He was deeply troubled by those interactions. And he believed he was going to have to spend a lot more time doing it.
That said, as I reported at the time, he believed—wrongly, as it turned out—that he had managed to educate the White House on the proper contours of the relationship. But the point the President’s lawyers don’t seem to understand is that ... POTUS and his staff had to be taught.

1/n: Story time inspired by a tweet about process>outcome (an important concept). Many years ago, went to meet a successful PM at a huge multi-manager HF. Young guy (33/34yo), great track record, was being paid well over $5m/yr. Ignore that he was walking around in shorts/sandals
2/n: He was affable, good sense of humor, really down-to-earth. In many instances, his response to my questions were "I don't know". Then he started asking me about Demark indicators. Went off on a tangent about how he had spent months trying to refine his skills with it.
3/n: We sat as his bloomberg and he spent 10 minutes going through Demark and he was explaining how he's always trying to find new tools to help enhance his versatility as a PM/Trader. Made quite an impression on me to see such a successful manager spending real time struggling
