I keep reminding myself it won’t be as satisfying as I think it will be to watch Trump and his family (hopefully) pay for their crimes. Justice and change will bring relief to many, certainly, but if we’re counting on their downfall to bring us joy, we’ll be disappointed.
(I say this as someone who prays for the end to this administration and will absolutely celebrate if/when that happens. Just hedging against that tendendeny to feel gleeful about a situation that is, ultimately, very sad. Lasting justice & healing will require more from us.)
(I also say this as someone who literally stood on the couch and fist-pumped when Littlefinger got his comeuppance on GOT and am trying to be less indulgent of my retributive impulses when it comes to real people. 😉)
