There is something to be said about the idea that technology has evolved in such a way that corporate & government surveillance is easy, but personal quantification is difficult.
I would love to be able to pull down and analyze so much data about my digital (and in many cases physical) life and interactions but so much of it is locked inside various layers and arbitrarily restrictive formats.
Even something as trivial as "what did I read this week" becomes almost impossible to answer when factoring in web pages, books, academic pdfs, emails, word documents etc.
Our entire computing infrastructure silos that information, giving those who operate and with access to the infrastructure vast insights into ourselves while removing our ability to self reflect and analyze in efficient ways.
