Don't get me wrong. We who oppose fascism will accept your help. That doesn't mean we agree with your politics or will let your policies infect our future,

We need a full accounting. The world needs it. America deserves it.

Why didn't you speak out sooner?

Trump's rhetoric is no different in direction or intent than Republican spokesliars have been spreading since Nixon. He embraced the Southern Strategy. Trump's racist dogsirens are just the quiet parts of that said out loud, with a bullhorn.

So Trump has no indoor voice. Your silence since Nixon implies that you're okay with it all.

And remember Reagan's Nine Scary Words--"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

It was a funny line, but the obvious and predictable eventual result is the dismantling of the structures of American governance. If you disagreed with that, why the hell didn't you say so?

Then there was the funny line of G.W. Bush, that his base consisted of the "haves" and the "have mores". Okay, it was a parody, delivered as a joke--but you know damn well there was truth to it.
