There are several debates that take place about Xmas & they tend to be get conflated. They are SEPERATE issues:
1a. Muslims engaging w/ theological aspects of Xmas
1b. Muslims enjoying cultural aspects of a theological Xmas
2. Viewing Xmas celebration as secular (non-religious)
Infantile name-calling is something ignorant rabble-rousers do, not intelligent and civilised believers enabled w/ nuance. I've also noticed widespread on social media that it's mostly those unlearned in the shari'ah that are loudest in both approval or condemnation.
Before commenting on behalf of God, pls learn to think & reason systematically, w/ all of the shar'i variables & resources (nusus) in mind. Reductive istidlal (sourcing) is one of the greatest reasons behind modern misinterpretations/ misrepresentations of the shari'ah.
On (1a), it's quite bizarre that some major Muslim orgs advocate partaking in theological aspects of Xmas. This is something NO believer accepts nor advocates and they compel us to revise how 'representative' they are of Muslims and how legitimate their 'Muslim leadership' is.
On (1b) I do not generally see this as a problem, see:
On (2): This isn't even to do w/ theology bt the reality of the situ & whether علة (ratio) can be applied. What's under discussion is the واقع where the khilaf pertains to تحقيق المناط. (Those who dont understand what Ive written here have no place in getting involved. Sit down.)
