@TheEconomist What they leave out is that ‘modern’ sexual pairing isn’t leaning towards monogamy, it’s leaning towards polyandry and normalized cuckoldry. Socially enforced monogamy is actually a more appalling prospect to women than polygamy:

@TheEconomist When you make women the primary sexual selectors in society you legally enforce the female sexual strategy (Hypergamy) as the baseline. When this happens women will naturally choose the top 20% of men and avoid the bottom 80%. This creates a female-set form of polyandry.
