And Christians wonder why so many people are turning from the faith and/or find church leaders to be hypocritical...
I don't claim to be an expert in Scripture. In the Quaker meeting in which I was raised we spent little time talking at all/about words written thousands of years ago and more time doing things to help people. But pretty sure Jesus was a champion of the poor and good works.
The takeover of large swaths of American Christianity by the prosperity gospel types would catch some shade from Jesus, Luther, etc.
