I keep reading complex explanations for how to end the US government shutdown. But isn't the solution easy? Congress passes a bill opening it up - and then the Senate overrides the president's veto.
And yes, I know that would require Republican Senators to comply.But that's my point: they aren't getting nearly enough attention, or blame, for their total failure to take responsibility
This whole thing looks like a battle between "Democrats" and Trump. But there is a big missing piece of this story.
(and yes, the House would have to override veto as well - so House Republicans also have to step up and show they are patriots who care about decent government, and government workers)
