For those of you accusing me of nitpicking to suit my political agenda, anyone who has followed me for the past 8 years will know that accuracy on human rights and European law has been perhaps my most consistent bugbear. On this, I have some evidence!

I made a new year's resolution not to get involved in pile ons or outrage-a-thons or even sympathy-a-thons and it has so far improved my Twitter experience
Obviously you can't be on Twitter and totally avoid these things but at least I'm trying to wait a day to see what I want to say about things, which in itself is helpful
Nb I have a theory that sympathy-a-thons are a flip side of outrage-a-thons as they create this sort of expressive inflationary pressure where you suddenly have to show solidarity or whatever with any number of things, and everything else gets crowded out.

The accusation levelled at @TracyAnnO that she is 'grooming' a child because she politely asked for her to meet to discuss Labour and antisemitism is gross. I have been through the entire conversation and the accusation is beyond baseless.
I know things get heated on Twitter and can spin out of control faster than those involved realise (god knows it has happened to me) but people need to get a grip.
And as @leekern13 (who I don't always agree with) says, accusing Jews of attempted child abuse is one of those things you should be quite careful about as it's a very old antisemitic trope. In fact, you should be really very careful about accusing anyone of it

If Trump had never met a Russian, he should be impeached for his corruption while in office. Had he never been corrupt, he should be impeached for trying to defraud the American people with hush money payments during the campaign.
If he had never done that, he should be impeached for his obstruction of justice in the Russia investigation. If he had never done that, he should be impeached for his willful dereliction of his presidential responsibilities in Puerto Rico and elsewhere.
If he had never done that he should be impeached for his serial violation of human rights and international law at our borders. If he had never done that he should be impeached for his decades of hidden tax fraud.

For decades, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been subverting the United States by infiltrating, undermining, and influencing its key institutions.
This topic is only recently hitting the surface. Vice President Mike Pence said on Oct. 4, "Beijing is employing a whole-of-government approach to advance its influence and benefit its interests."
He added that the CCP is working to influence U.S. elections and domestic policies, and "Today, the Chinese Communist Party is rewarding or coercing American businesses, movie studios, universities, think tanks, scholars, journalists, and local, state, and federal officials."

So, no banks nor was the central bank sanctioned. I got that wrong. But, that's why I'm a drunk twitter asshole, and not some world-famous economist or a Fake News journalist.

However, Iran's financial sector has been in a crisis for awhile rife with fraud and mismanagement and corruption. Soooo I'm optimistic.
