This is absolutely insane. No credible news organization runs single sources stories without that source providing clear proof of their claims. A bad defense of an irresponsible and silly story.
Like is her claim here that this is fine? Or that the reporter saw proof and like...didn’t say that in the story for reasons unknown?
Misconstruing how good reporting is done to defend your own bad reporting is plainly disingenuous. Also, I’m not sure you get to pretend you aren’t part of the “mainstream media” when the president of the United States regularly cites your work as justification for his policies.
