Let's do a thread on the big @chashomans profile of Senate Majority Leader McConnell in @nytimes. It's worth reading, for several reasons already remarked on by other journalists. With that said, a few thoughts... nytimes.com/2019/01/22/mag…
2. An odd sensation accompanies reading a piece by a smart, experienced, self-aware journalist who knows his sources are trying to spin him, recognizes how they are trying to do it, and gets spun anyway. This is one such piece.
3. We have to start with "Mitch McConnell, the man of institutions and establishments" hoo-ha that appears to be the price of admission for anyone wanting to write about the guy. This is a Senate Majority Leader who has trashed the Senate: comprehensively, deliberately.

Thread. #Wisconsin story via @jessieopie about aftermath of a Republican campaign gimmick. GOP legislators, supporting a lawsuit that would declare all of Obamacare unconstitutional, pledged state legislation protecting people w/pre-existing conditions if legal gambit failed.
They are now seeking to negotiate state legislation with new Democratic @GovEvers, whose response has been to suggest a bill that would do everything Obamacare does in Wisconsin if Republicans’ lawsuit to repeal Obamacare nationally succeeds.
Republicans in the legislature are outraged. They want to save their seats, not Obamacare. Why can’t @GovEvers see that and just, you know, work with them? This is headed for a bill Republicans will pass, Democrats will say (accurately) is meaningless, and Evers will veto.

3. Glasser was a reporter in Moscow then, and relates how some people there didn’t quite know what to make of this former KGB officer and his nostalgia for the Soviet police state. Would he try to bring it back? He certainly sounded as if he wanted to. But was that possible?

So this girl that has been curving me for a while called last night and said she wants to come around today, knowing that I'd definitely be at home I said no wahala.
We agreed 9am and ended the call.
Grin grin grin my alarm woke me at exactly 6am today.
I cleaned my house more than I've ever done, I arranged some drinks in my fridge, checked for new movie update and downloaded some so that my Amaka would be comfortable.

First up, Trippy Hippy. So I already knew they were on the line up, but they did songs most peeps didn't know. Wasn't too bad cause they delivered.
Next: DJ Hussein. I think. Anyway, 🔥 set. But the downside, it was too long. By the time he was done, people were somewhat tired from dancing, which didn't help people's patience for the next artist.
