Trumpism is predicated on cruelty and that cruelty is a means by which insecure and small people can wear a persona that hides just how insecure and small they are.
Those teenagers mocking and harassing are the same teens who delve into fascism and sadism. The Make America Great Again Hat is the public expression of the swastika sharpie-ed on a restroom wall.
At the rallies I reported from I’d see these kinds of boys and men trying on openly-racist and sadistic personas, sheepishly looking for approval from their friends, and then turning up the volume as soon as they got it.
Trumpism is a collective persona that stalls development and prevents the insecure from seeking fulfillment and personal growth. God knows what kind of long term, dangerous consequences we’re going to see.

As people, we have a choice. We can reject politics as they are. We can say no to the lies and pageantry and deceit. We can shut the door on an era of manipulation, false promises, and appeals to our worst vices and natures.

Our politicians aren't going to do it. We have to.
The only reason this works is because we allow it to. There's an illusion here that we are separated and powerless to change things. It only works so long as we allow it and as long as we allow ourselves to think and behave as the people who benefit from it all want us to.
This framing of reality has created a system of control that puts a ruling class in charge that has no interest in making our lives or the country better. The contests are all decided by who can best carve up our electorate and manipulate those segmentations.

These polls are just absolutely meaningless. They ask whether viewers approve of language that has been tested to death by pollsters and whether they approve of lies that have no relation to truth. It's useless and damaging, and it's always been useless and damaging.
The way we cover politics is broken. We pretend like the rhetoric employed to manipulate people is the story, that it's whether a manipulation of the people worked, whether they'll be manipulated instead of whether it's good for the country or decent.
Trump spoke in platitudes. He dressed his racist and fictional agenda in tested language and rhetoric. It wasn't a matter of whether he was honest or whether he was stating anything that would help people, it was whether the language that was tested was test correctly.

Trump has often questioned the toughness of football players. Here, he says he wouldn’t want his son to play. This is the basis of modern Republicanism, a contradiction of values and lack of empathy when viewing the self and others.
Trump has literally reminisced over how much he’s enjoyed watching football players hit each other, the violence of the game, he owned a football franchise at one time. But his kid? Heaven forbid...
This is exactly the kind of thought that has permeated the party for decades. Men like Cheney and Bush, men who avoided war at all costs, were more than happy to sacrifice people’s lives. It’s a plague on the country.

People have asked me my opinion on @dinatokio and honestly, I think it's best to just leave her alone. Do I think hijab is fard? Sure. Do I think people make it their full-time job to police women's clothing? Also yes. Call to good - don't just shame her for wearing hats.
The number of people on her latest Instagram saying she should just take her whole scarf off if she's going to wear a hat is too high.

In what world would it be okay to encourage somebody to wear fewer clothes because they don't wear a headscarf?

When dealing with @comcast @xfinity security department you'll be routed to call centers in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica where you will be asked personal information like social sec number and even debit card numbers #Insecure
If someone attempts to breach your account, you'll be locked out and sent to one of these call centers outside the United States. This means you'll be giving your info to people hired by @comcast @xfinity but not covered by United States law if they steal your information.
For 3 days I have been working to help someone get their @comcast @xfinity account straightened out and repeatedly they wait on the phone for up to 20min to be answered by call centers where language barriers mixed with insecure data have become a problem.
